There are more ways of life expressed in one forest than we are capable of knowing.
It is a dynamic place, always changing and evolving, adapting and cycling through life and death, interconnected, communal and elegant in the simply complexity of existence.
Simple Complexity
The 11th installation of the ‘Listening to the Mother’ project.
There is an elegance to the interdependence of the forest. There is a dance, a way, an energy that spins in and through each element as it gives and takes within this dynamic symbiotic relationship.
I am inspired to feel into the flow of the cycles
of place
and life
as it is expressed in this vast ecosystem.
The resilience that lies in the interconnectedness weaves unexpected workarounds and new opportunities to seek life.
At the top of the canopy a tree has been broken yet new branches turn toward the sun in hope of healing.
There a young sapling sprouts from an ancient nurse stump, here moss covers a log and stone, over there a fallen tree is silvered with spores of beautifully ivory fungi.
So much goings on!
So many great stories being told!
This is the inspiration for this penultimate installation of the year long land art project ‘Listening to the Mother’
The simplicity in the ways that life will be…life.
And the complexity in the way that happens in every moment.
